Creating Invoices - How it Works

Once your timesheets in Generations® are verified, print out the Billing Report By Client (in Generations®). This report shows the details that will be transferred to QuickBooks® . When you have verified the report is accurate, open the Invoices to QuickBooks® screen which allows you to specify client, date range, custom message, and additional options. Generations® tracks the billed time, ensuring you do not double-bill a client for the same service. Even if you have over 100 clients, sending your invoices to QuickBooks® takes no longer than a few minutes.

Creating Timesheets and Bills- How it Works

After your timesheets in Generations® are verified, print out the Timesheet Detail Report. This report shows the detailed timesheets that will be sent to QuickBooks®. When you have verified the report is accurate, open the Timesheets to QuickBooks® screen which allows you to select specific timesheets and other options. Generations® tracks when each timesheet item is paid, ensuring you do not pay an employee twice for the same shift. Generations® even calculates overtime and holiday pay for you, and transfers this to QuickBooks® using the correct earnings codes!

Extensive Auditing

Before transferring any data to QuickBooks® , Generations® audits all your pay rates and service rates to verify they are the same in both systems. If there is any difference you are prompted to identify the correct rate and the appropriate system is updated based on your response. This audit function ensures payroll and billing data is accurate in both systems.

What if I don't use QuickBooks®?

Using QuickBooks® is not a requirement to use Generations®. Even without QuickBooks®, Generations® calculates and produces accurate and detailed payroll and billing reports, all generated from the schedules you originally created, saving you hours of work each week. We also interface with ADP, Paychex®, and have a timesheet export that can be used by almost any third party payroll company.
